Celloversum
RMS Cello Big Band & RMS Cello Combo
Since 1995 Ulrike Tiedemann and I run Cello Big Band projects. In 2002 we started the annual Celloversum concerts with the Rheinische Musikschule Köln. For the RMS Cello Big Band and RMS Cello Combo I've arranged some programs with a special subject or dedicated to a special artist (Sting, Eric Clapton, Ray Charles, The Blues Brothers, The Jungle Book etc.), performed at the concert hall of the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.
Since 2023 the RMS Cello Big Band is directed by Valerie Rathmann and me.
Many guests have enhanced our programs: The Black Sheep, Manfred Billmann, Rupert Gillett, Chris Haigh, Charly Klauser, Ingmar Meissner, David Plate, René Pütz, Sebastian Reimann, Thomas Rückert, Michael Villmow, Wittshell a.o. The CBB was accompanied by percussionists Rüdiger Tiedemann and Jakob Traxl a.o.
CD "Celloversum
For the 10th anniversary in 2012 we have published the CD "Celloversum" with compositions and arrangements from my book "The Groove Cello ConneXion" and the String Thing book "Groovy Strings" in collaboration with Breitkopf & Härtel.
