Teil des Festivals ist eine Festival Cello Big Band (max. 50 Celli), die am Freitag und Samstag in der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln jeweils ca. eine Stunde proben wird. Am Sonntag (15. Juli) wird es eine gemeinsame Probe mit der RMS Cello Big Band (Rheinische Musikschule Köln, Celloversum) im WDR Funkhaus geben. Gemeinsam spielen die zwei CBBs dann mit über 100 Celli im Abschlusskonzert des Festivals am Sonntag um 14.00 Uhr im Klaus-von-Bismarck-Saal (Großer Sendesaal) des WDR Funkhauses (Wallrafplatz 5).
Auf dem Programm stehen "Misirlou" (nach der Version von Dick Dale), "I Feel Good" (James Brown) sowie "That's All" von dem Londoner Singer/Songwriter und Cellisten Rupert Gillett, der mit uns als Sänger und Cellist auf der Bühne stehen (sitzen) wird.
Bitte wählt passende Stimmen aus und bringt sie mit. Bei "Misirlou" ist Vc3 die virtuoseste Stimme - die anderen Stimmen sind aber auch sehr wichtig für die Partystimmung. Auch bei den anderen Stücken hoffe ich auf eine gute Verteilung der Stimmen. Wer flexibel ist, drucke sich neben seiner Lieblingsstimme bitte auch eine weitere Stimme aus, damit wir in der Probe für eine ausgewogene Verteilung sorgen können.

Part of the festival will be a Festival Cello Big Band (max. 50 cellos), rehearsing for about 1 hour on Friday and Saturday at Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. On Sunday (July 15) we will rehearse and perform together with the RMS Cello Big Band (Rheinische Musikschule Köln, Celloversum) at the large broadcast hall at the WDR Funkhaus (Wallrafplatz 5) in the final festival concert at 2.00 PM.
We will play "Misirlou" (Dick Dale version), "I Feel Good" (James Brown) and "That's All" by singer/songwriter and cellist Rupert Gillett from London, performing with us on vocals and cello.
Please choose suitable parts and bring them with you. The most "virtuoso" part in "Misirlou" is Vc3. But all other parts are very important for the party mood as well! I hope for a good spreading of the 4 parts in all songs. If you are flexible please choose your favorite part and bring an additional other part with you to be able to help getting a good balance of parts in the rehearsals (and concert).
